President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo links arms with her fellow leaders of
the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the leaders of Australia, China,
India, Japan, the Republic of Korea and New Zealand after the formal signing of the Kuala
Lumpur Declaration on the First East Asia Summit Wednesday (Dec. 14) at the Kuala Lumpur
Convention Center in Malaysia. The East Asia Summit is a forum for dialogue on broad
strategic issues of relevance to East Asia as well as other regional and global issues.
