| PGMA ARRIVES IN SHANGHAI—President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is welcomed by business tycoon Lucio Tan and his wife upon the Chief Executive’s arrival Tuesday (Oct. 2) at the Tan-owned Eton Hotel at Pudong New District in Shanghai where she is billeted during her two-day visit to the People’s Republic of China. While in Shanghai, the President is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Hu Jintao, deliver a speech at the Philippine Business and Investment Forum at the Le Meridien Hotel, and attend the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics International 2007 hosted by China.
