inspects successful operations of a global Filipino company in Syria |

TARTOUS, Syria -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo inspected
here the operations of the International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI),
a global Filipino company which has become a world leader in providing
container handling, storage and related services to shipping lines and cargo
owners.
The President led the unveiling on Tuesday morning here of the commemorative
marker of the Tartous International Container Terminal Services (TICT) that
manages the cargo handling operation of ICTSI.
Assisting the President were Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto Romulo, ICTSI
president Enrique Razon and Tartous port manager Zaki Najeeb.
After the simple unveiling ceremonies, the President was briefed on the
company’s operations and given a short tour of the 25-hectare port facility.
The President’s visit here capped her three-day fruitful state visit in
Syria.
While operating six terminals In the Philippines, ICTSI also currently
manages international container terminals in Brazil, Ecuador, Poland,
Georgia, Madagascar, Japan, Indonesia, China, and here in Syria.
In addition to its headquarters in Manila, ICTSI has regional
representatives in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Jakarta,
Indonesia, Ghana and Miami, Florida.
