BANGKOK (Via PLDT) – President Gloria
Macapagal-Arroyo and Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad have agreed to set in place a
mechanism that would allow the Philippines and Malaysia to jointly develop Mindanao and
put an end to the influx of illegal aliens from Southern Philippines to Sabah.
The agreement in principle was reached during the
two leaders’ expanded bilateral meeting Tuesday in Malaysia.
The President went to Malaysia for a fruitful
six-hour working visit before coming here to meet Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.(see full story)
