The News and Information
Bureau is one of the three implementing bureaus of a Foreign-Assisted Project named
"The Philippine Administrative Network Project" which is an OPS-French Protocol
Project. The other two bureaus are: Bureau of Broadcast Services and the Philippine
Information Agency.

Project Description/Objective:
This Project aims to develop an integrated Public
Information Network to address the technical difficulties in relaying and disseminating
information in the course of formulating and effecting public policies.
This Foreign Assisted Project is an OPS-French
Protocol Project under the Office of the Press Secretary. There are three implementing
bureaus namely the News and Information Bureau for its Philippines News Agency, the
Bureau of Broadcast Services and the Philippine Information Agency. The project involves
the acquisition of audio video and telecommunications equipment and upgrading of technical
and engineering skills of the three Bureaus for a total communication network for general
governance. The project will be on its third year of implementation by FY 2002.
