These are located, as Vince showed, along the strategic thoroughfares in Metro Manila. Kaya napakaimportante itong gasolinahan na ito. Kasama ng mahigit apatnapu pang ibang gasolinahan, sila ay nagbibigay ng espesyal na diskwento sa mga bus at jeepney upang hindi tumaas ang presyo ng pasahe para sa mahihirap. Salamat din sa Flying V dahil meron silang special assistance program para sa Piston at PCDO-ACTO members. Salamat din sa Total Pina Elf dahil nagbibigay sila ng diskwento sa bus operators sa ilang lugar sa Edsa pati na rin sa mga probinsya. Inaasahan ko na itong ating mga oil players ay papalawakin ang kanilang sakop sa programang ito para kasama 'yung public buses at saka mga tricycle na sila ang ginagamit ng ating karaniwang Pilipino. Nakita na ninyo 'yung iba't-ibang lugar kung saan meron itong mga diskwento lalo na para sa jeep. Itong mga lokasyong ito ay makukuha ng diesel sa mas mababang halaga para sa mga kasapi ng samahang FEJODAP, PERCODA, PISTON, PCDO-ACTO, PASANG MASDA at iba pang PUJ. The metro bus operators submitted to me several proposals -- this is one of them. Another one is a proposal that the price of gasoline could be adjusted to subsidize the price of diesel since the latter is the poor man's fuel and any support to keep its price down will have an impact on the cost of living. I instructed Vince Perez to make a study of this proposal as we believe that all feasible means must be explored to alleviate the effect of oil price increases on the day-to-day lives of the most marginal sectors. The department of energy will come up with the government's position in due time based on social balance and fairness to all concerned. Premature politics causes divisiveness, which feed perceptions of instability. Premataure politics repels investments, attracts criminals, and distracts government from public service. The main victims are ordinary Filipinos. Ordinary Filipinos whose jobs are placed at risk. Ordinary Filipinos whose incomes are eroded. Ordinary Filipinos whose welfare gets to be neglected. I want to take care of ordinary Filipinos. I will not join in the mudslinging that others want to start this early. I have too much to do for our national security and economy which are the important factors serving our people's interests. Sa inyong mga tumutulong sa akin asikasuhin itong importanteng trabaho, mabuhay kayong lahat! Mabuhay ang nagmamalasakit sa mahihirap! Mabuhay ang mga nagpapatakbo ng bus at jeepney companies na umiiwas itaas ang pasahe! Mabuhay ang mga gasolinahang nagbibigay ng diskwento upang tumulong sa mga jeepney at sa ating mga bus!
