PGMA's Speech during the Inauguration of Danao City Bus Terminal and Public Market

Daghan salamat, Ssecretary Ace Durano sa imong pagpaila kanako ug daghan salamat sa imo maayo nga trabaho isip Secretary of Tourism sa atong nasud.

Sa atong host, Mayor Nito Durano, Governor Gwen Garcia, Vice Mayor Durano, Congressman Durano ug Tanan opisyales diri sa Danao City. Together with me today are Cabinet member Secretary Peter Favila and Secretary Mike Defensor. Mga kaigsuonan, mga higala diri sa Danao City, maayong buntag kaninyong tanan ug daghan salamat sa kanunay n'yong suporta kanako.

Ug karon adlawa gi abi-abi ko si Mayor Nito Durano ug ang katawhan sa dakbayan sa Danao sa inyong labing bag-ong proyekto, modern kaayo, modern murag sa entero nga dakbayan sa Danao.

And I'm very glad to hear that this came partially from a loan from the Land Bank of the Philippines, because I would like to let Nito and the other local governments know that if Danao was able to benefit -- pila, 50 million? -- gikan sa Land Bank we have another 200 million dollars worth available for local government funding for other priority projects.

Kagahapon sa birthday ni Governor Gwen Garcia -- happy birthday Gwen! -- sa iyang birthday luncheon gitagaan nato ang Chairman ug Korea Electric Company ug presidential award alang sa iyang 400 million-dollar investment sa kuryente sa probinsya sa Sugbo, aron sigurado ang inyong kuryente bisan sa mga umaabot nga dekada. Ug gitagaan sab nato ang iyang award sa iya tungod sab sa iyang daghang kaayo na mga rural electrification sa Sugbo ug sa laing-laing probinsya sa entero nga Cntral Philippines.

And speaking of energy, speaking of power, may I announce not only to the people of Cebu but especially to the entire Philippines that the entire energy team -- that's why Popo Lotilla was not here yesterday even if we gave KEPCO an award -- the entire energy team and I are at the forefront of protecting the interest and welfare of the public especially when it comes to electricity as our people deserve no less from the maximum and fair benefit from a free market. The people can rest assured that no stone will be left unturned at the course of the investigation on the alleged price manipulation of the electricity spot market. Kauban si Secretary Peter Favila sa investigation na mahimo ug investigation sa alleged price manipulation sa kuryente.

Energy remains to be a vital tool in achieving economic stability, and in the meantime, the government will not stop in the search for alternative sources and all other means to relieve the socio-economic pressures arising from fluctuating oil prices. Congressman Red Durano, please convey that we appreciate both houses of Congress for passing the bio-fuels bill -- thank you very much, congressman -- not to mention the budget in the house of representatives. Thank you also congressman, kaganina ra sa dawn. And we look forward to the passage of other vital measures that will dramatically lessen our country's dependence on imported energy.

Nito and boy's father and mine, Nito and me, and now Ace -- our Cabinet member. Three generations of friendship between the Durano family and the Macapagal family.

And the Central Nautical Highway goes north from here to the San Remigio port and on to Masbate where we will build another Ro-Ro port and on to Bicol in Luzon.

And of course, para masigurado nga madayon sayo kining highway ang in charge na mo-follow up aron masugdan right away kining bag-o nga improvement sa north coastal road walay laing kundili ang atong super region champion sa Central Philippines super region waray laing kundili ang anak sa Danao, ang anak ni Nito, si Secretary Ace Durano sa tourism. So, Ace imong sala kundi mahuman ang north coastal road.

So gwapo kaayo kining terminal, siguradong gwapo ang bag-o nga fishport, sigurado sab na gwapo ang mahimo sa kaugmaon sa Danao City, sa Sugbo unta sa entero nga Pilipinas. Ang importante ra magkugi pa kita ug managhi-usa aron modali ug magpadayon kining atong pag-uswag sa Danao, sa Cebu, sa entero nga Pilipinas.
