WASHINGTON
D.C.--US President Bill Clinton introduces a Filipino member of the White House staff to
President Joseph "Erap" Ejercito Estrada during a tour of the American
presidential residence. Mr. Clinton, who virtually acted as Mr. Estrada's "tour
guide," had gathered 21 Filipino members of the White House staff to greet the
visiting Philippine leader. Mr. Estrada's meeting with Mr. Clinton resulted in the signing
of seven bilateral agreements between the Philippines and the US, which cover defense and
security, environment and public health, economic and development cooperation and trade
and investments. |

Lady Dr. Luisa "Loi" Ejercito Estrada cuts the ceremonial ribbon to formally
open Friday (Saturday, July 29, Manila time) the Second New York Filipino Film Festival at
the Walter Reade Theater, Lincoln Center, New York City. Dra. Loi is assisted by Mrs. Kai
Siazon, wife of Foreign Affairs Secretary Domingo Siazon Jr., and Lady Diaz, director of Naked
under the Sun that was premiered on opening day. Guests included actor Joel Torre;
