GMA thanks 'great Filipino workers' in U.S. for contributions to Philippine economy (02.04.02)

CHICAGO (Via PLDT) –President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo today extended the gratitude and support of her one-year-old administration as well as the 76 million Filipinos to the Filipino community in Chicago for their contributions to the Philippine economy even as she urged them to continue investing their money in their homeland.

She also asked the members of the Filipino-American community to unite and link up arms in order to ensure the Philippines’ march to progress and development.

"This is a good time for you to put your investments or to expand your business in your homeland," the Chief Executive said during her speech after the Mass for Peace at the Our Lady of Mercy Parish Church in the northwest area of Chicago where many Filipinos reside.(see full story)
